Gas absorption studied on perforated plates. A stainless steel column fitted with sieve plates is served by a feed tank, a CO2 cylinder with regulator, an air regulator with pressure gauge, a rotameter, receiving tanks and connecting pipework. Liquid is metered onto the plates while the metered gas and air stream rises through the column, and a borosilicate glass section lets the class watch the process as it runs. Flow rates are adjusted independently to simulate different operating conditions, and measuring the concentration of gas absorbed in the liquid gives the overall volumetric mass transfer coefficient.
Made in our own plant in Ambala Cantt, the Absorption in Sieve Plate Column is supplied to colleges, technical institutes and industry for chemical engineering work, in single units or bulk. Part of our Chemical Engineering Lab Equipments range.
