Industry 4.0 Training Equipment and Smart Factory Cells

Industry 4.0 is difficult to teach from a textbook because the point of it is the connection between things: a sensor reading that becomes a database record that becomes a scheduling decision. Our Industry 4.0 training equipment makes that connection physical, so students watch a part move through a cell and watch its data move through the system at the same time.

What a smart factory training cell contains

A typical cell combines PLC control, a six-axis or SCARA robot, RFID part tracking, machine vision inspection, conveyor transport and MES or SCADA software running a live digital twin. Stations are modular, so an institute can begin with two and extend to a full line as budget allows without replacing anything already bought.

What students learn

Cell programming and integration, industrial networking over Ethernet/IP, PROFINET or Modbus TCP, RFID read and write for part genealogy, vision-based quality inspection, OEE and production data capture, digital twin simulation against the running cell, and predictive maintenance from sensor trend data. The teaching value is in the integration — each station is straightforward alone and demanding in combination.

Specifying an Industry 4.0 lab

State the number of stations and whether they must interlink, the controller family, the industrial protocol required, whether robot integration is in scope and of what payload and reach, whether vision and RFID are included, and which software is required with its licence seat count. Confirm the floor area and the electrical supply before ordering, since a full line needs both planned rather than assumed.
