Compact desktop tray dryer for laboratory drying studies, with temperature and air flow under computer control and full data logging. Capacity is up to 2.1 Kg of wet material, air flows from 0.4 to 3.0 m/s over the trays, and temperatures reach 80°C at 0.4 m/s, less at higher flows. Construction is stainless steel throughout, and built-in electronic weighing gives the drying rate directly.

Each pair of temperature and humidity readings fixes the full thermodynamic state of the air from a psychrometric chart, including wet bulb temperature, moisture content and entropy. That allows deeper analysis for project or research work, for instance comparing the change in moisture content of the air against the rate of moisture loss from the trays.
