Cellular Communications Trainer - Should provide a modularized approach to the design with major components of mobile telephony communication system in separate modules and measurement on each of the sections represented by these components; Should operate in the 900 or 1800 band or a more recent cellular communications technology; Should come with multiple cell phones - at least four (4) - for real-time communication and have modifications for different traffic levels and fading effects; Should come with software (compatible with Windows 7) for simulation of the communication system, virtual instrumentation for real-time analysis of cell phone signal; capability to operate in small cells and to interconnect with the cabled telephones would be preferred
Should provide for signaling and network controlling
Should operate at low power suitable for a class room use
Interfaces: GPIB (IEEE 1488.2), USB 2.0 (or higher) or Ethernet
