Short tube vertical evaporator for concentrating a non-volatile solute by boiling off part of the solvent, usually water. The tube bundle is surrounded by a stainless steel jacket and fitted with an accumulator, an arrangement suited to foamy liquids where long tube evaporators are normally used.
Made in our own plant in Ambala Cantt, the Calandria Evaporator is supplied to colleges, technical institutes and industry for chemical engineering work, in single units or bulk. Part of our Chemical Engineering Lab Equipments range.
Dilute feed enters the evaporator and is heated by steam from a steam generator until the liquor reaches the concentration wanted. The jacket carries a steam trap, with condensate collected beyond it. Solvent vapour is condensed in a shell and tube condenser, while the non-volatile balance gathering in the accumulator is recycled through the evaporator.
