The Ice Plant Trainer is designed to demonstrate ice manufacturing
process & to analyze Refrigeration Cycle at low temperatures. The
ice plant capacity is 10 Kg/day.
The trainer uses Hermetic Compressor, Air Cooled Condenser, Capillary Tube & coiled evaporator immersed in brine tank. Ice cans are placed in brine tank on a steel frame. Low speed stirrer is fitted to the brine tank to maintain uniform brine temperature. Brine tank is insulated & inner tank is made of stainless steel.
CFC free refrigerant R-134a is used in the system & is pre charged in the system.
Instruments to measure Cycle Pressure, Temperatures at different points, Power Consumption are fitted on Instrument panel. Flow of refrigerant is measured on Glass tube Rotameter fitted with calibrated scale. High & Low Pressure cutoff switch & thermostat are provided as safety devices.
